The Six of Cups represents childhood, or returning to a place that was once familiar to you.
The Six of Cups, when pulled upright, represents childhood and returning to a place you once knew. Perhaps you're returning to that place literally, or perhaps you're returning there figuratively, but, either way, it's a familiar place. Remembering, visiting, or thinking of this place makes you feel happy, and you're looking upon the past with joy. However, don't think remembering this place is the only way to feel happy.
The Six of Cups, when pulled reversed, means you're sticking too closely to the past. Like the upright meaning warned, do not think remembering the past is the only way to feel happiness. In the past, you're comfortable and secure, because you know the outcome of the situation. However, that is no way to live. Step outside of your comfort zone, become fully aware, and remain in the present.
The Six of Cups is asking you to stay present. If you must remember the past, remain vigilant in how you view it.
